The High Rollers Club Review Transcript:
[00:00:01] Good morning guys, Jenn Bruno Smith here! I am here with Lisa Lutz from Lee Marie Photography in Charlotte, North Carolina, and also one of our masterminds students. I’m so grateful that you took some time out this morning to chat with me just about your experience. And you know, it really means a lot whenever our students not only are succeeding but thriving and take time out to talk with us. So tell me about yourself, where you’re at, what you shoot, tell me about your schedule!
[00:00:30] Sure. So I’m in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I’ve been doing this actually since January. And I have a studio in the Noda district of Charlotte, which is kind of like a really artsy district. I love it there. I love the studio lighting. I’m a natural light photographer. And I got started in the boudoir because I was looking to do a shoot for myself, for my husband. It’s funny that you still ask me to this day where his photos are so I’m doing that at some point. But I really started off doing it, you know, just as I wonder if I’m going to be good at this. And then I’m up with the whole creative process. I’m a very creative person. I like instant transformations, too. And that’s kind of what you get to see within a two hour, three-hour time frame. And I love that. So I love everything about it. I love the empowerment. I love the faces of my clients and the comments. I got photos for the first time that just really fills my cup up.
[00:01:23] I love it. So tell me what you were doing before you joined the mastermind. What were you struggling with? What what what was your main struggle before you joined us?
[00:01:35] My main struggle was really one knowing my worth and two I just kind of hit a wall, a standstill of being kind of a shoot and burn photographer. I would shoot my clients. They would pay for the actual session. So package, which was $750 they would take for him, that would include hair and makeup and one and half hour shoot and 25 digital images. I was just handing that off to them. And unfortunately, with two kids and a very busy. I’m a stay at home mom or my mom. And I really cannot with my schedule and babysitting. And I can’t really shoot more than two times a week right now currently. And so I just thought like, well, I’m never going to make more than $750 shoot because this is where I’m at. I don’t have an opportunity where I’m not setting myself up for an opportunity to do I.P.S sells. I’m really just painting over my work for very little and this is what I’m going to be. So I knew there had to be OK with shooting twice so we can make making fifteen hundred dollars or I needed to make a change. And that’s what happened in August. September came and I was like, I have to make a change. I’ve got to go somewhere else with this. I need to learn how to do I.P.S. I need to know my work. And that’s where the High Rollers Club came in and really shook the branches a little bit.
[00:02:54] And it does put you outside your comfort zone, but in such a positive and empowering way that sets you up for success. And I really didn’t know that that was what was going to happen. I didn’t know I would be able to implement things right off the gate. From day one, I had tools in my tool bag that would allow me to change my price list upgrade and become a new standard on my Web site. Have phone calls immediately within the first week of people because I implemented a closed Facebook group and people were adding their friends who I would never have had the ability to reach out to. So all of those things just really pushed me on. Maybe the reason I was hesitant to start at first because I think like anything, we think we can do it ourselves. And when you have just a little bit of success, you’re like, well, if I just do maybe rework some things, I can maybe do it on my own. I loved having the master plan. I loved. It’s like having a franchise, you know, and somebody who’s art. I’m also a big proponent of not reinventing the wheel solo with all the things that you guys have already implemented and already found to be successful. It was and still is a turnkey opportunity for me.
[00:04:03] I love that. I love that. So since you’ve joined us, you know, we’ve talked about your mindset changing year. Tell me more about that. Like the difference in your mindset from where you were before to where you are now.
[00:04:16] So I always I mean, we all think that our images are amazing. Right? Right. Because they are our creative process. It’s our art. So I’m. But I started to feel like, you know what, I’m doing something that I love. And these images are worth it. And I just started to feel like I’m getting the feedback from other people that these are really great images and need to be charging what my worth is. And I just kind of got in that place where I think we all kind of find ourselves. Well, I would I pay, you know, 50 had ordered it. So I think for me, it was on again, something that you all said in the mess my class costs about. And we talked about this, but you’re treating everyone like they have twenty thousand dollars of disposable income versus $350. And that was a light bulb change for me. And immediately I was like, I’m got to stop. Like, people are going to hear my confidence in my voice from the amazing phone script when I talk to them on consultation. That is so seamless. And that whole process is so seamless on the phone because of the phones that are in your program. And no one is hesitant like I don’t hear. There’s no one saying, oh, you know, I should say no. And there are a few people, you know, six hundred ninety-nine dollars on that might be a lot. But for the most part, they understand that what I’m doing holds that value and it is an investment. And they make it work. They see that. And I just thought, how will I ever be that person, that or that photographer that can charge thousands of dollars for their packages. And it happened overnight.
[00:05:56] And I love that. So so where are you? Were you were charging you were getting $750 out the door and now where are you at
[00:06:05] I’ve just had my first I.P.S. client on Monday, and she came in with cash and bought my $1,800 package. And for me, that was huge.
[00:06:17] It’s more than doubling! That’s amazing!
[00:06:21] Yes, it was amazing.
[00:06:22] And she was blown away like the whole entire time. She was just so I. And I was just like, oh, my gosh. Like what? I have been missing this personal connection because I have been e-mailing. My clients are online galleries. Ray likes it. I never hear from them again. They might leave a review on my Facebook page. But I was missing that personal connection to see that. I mean, for her to call down over 200 images because of the black and white conversions up to 40 and my packages at 20, she actually paid a little bit extra to add 10 more images to her book because she was like, I can’t leave those other 10 images. I need them. So I was missing that and all because I didn’t think people would want to travel to my home versus my studio. Again, that whole mindset change is great. This is a process. This is a business. And I think as photographers, too, we see this as a hobby sometimes. And we know people come to see this as a hobby. So once you take that hobby part out of it and just realize this is a business I’m a business person and business hours. This is my office where you come to your ordering appointment.
[00:07:28] Right. People get it. Absolutely. I always say my sandbox, my rules. You are my kid.
[00:07:36] You play by my rules. I love that. Yes. So what would you say to someone that’s considering our mastermind program but is on the fence about it? Because we know it’s an investment.
[00:07:47] So what would you say to someone that’s kind of on the fence and has been thinking about it for so knowing that this is an investment, you are investing in your business and you are going to make this back in probably the first week you start doing the sales, first week that you use the phone consultation, the first week that you run your Facebook ad, the first week that you open up your Facebook closed group to people adding their friends on adding a friend Friday or whatever. Right. All right. During that first week, if not by the first week, by the first month, you are going to may have made that investment back and then continue to make that throughout your career. And I think that little bit of hesitation that you might have that may end. This is an investment. But you have to spend money to make money. My husband’s always said that there’s really no other way you’re going to continue to look for and my mom would say a YouTube subscription to someone for one hundred dollars. And over here, you’re buying some other Facebook ad, how to create the perfect Facebook and Instagram ad. And that’s $250 a quarter. You continue to put all of that together. Why not make one purchase for a program that has everything that you’re going to need? All in one place. So that’s what I think. It’s been amazing to be able to go into the portal and look at exactly what I need to look at. re-look. I mean, I rewatched your mock I.P.S cell four times before my client came on Monday. And it was so helpful, you know, letting them talk. Just everything that you did made so much sense. And I didn’t have to feel super nervous when my client came. I felt like I had been doing it forever. So to have that confidence and you’re paying for confidence in a bottle. In a box.
[00:09:34] That’s what is a program I love. Thank you so much. I know you say. Before we started recording that it fills their cup doing this work. And but for me, it fills my cup hearing my students succeeding and changing their lives and changing their family’s lives. And so thank you so much for it.
[00:09:55] No, thank you. I literally was telling my mom the other day that I had, you know, before I start this program because she’s a little bit of my silent partner. I just feel like I’m at a standstill, like don’t know what to do next. I’m going to continue on this path and continue investing and spending my time. You know, it’s time with my family to go to a shoot. It’s my studio time that I have to pay for. And still making the same amount of money. And I did not. I was at a standstill. So if you’re at a standstill with your business and you’re wanting to make a change, this is the investment that needs to happen. I promise you ten times over that you’ll see a return on your investment within the first month. It’s incredible.
[00:10:33] I love that. Thank you so much for your time and I’m so proud and happy for you.
[00:10:35] Thank you so much.
[00:10:43] My pleasure.
[00:10:45] Bye.
